Child & Adolescent Counseling
Children and adolescents often express themselves differently than adults, so therapy should meet them where they are. We use age-appropriate approaches, such as play therapy, to help younger children communicate, process emotions, and build coping skills, while focusing on trust, connection, and open communication with adolescents. We may also incorporate SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) to help parents respond effectively to anxiety and reduce patterns that may unintentionally reinforce it. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where children and teens can feel understood, strengthen emotional skills, and navigate the challenges of growing up
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain heal from trauma and overwhelming experiences. Instead of retelling events in detail, EMDR uses gentle bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements or tapping—to help the brain safely process painful memories and reduce their emotional impact. Over time, memories that once felt intrusive or distressing become more manageable, allowing clients to feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control of their lives.

There are many reasons why therapy might not have worked in the past. Being ready and willing to participate makes a big difference, and it’s completely normal if you weren’t ready before. If you feel ready to make changes now, therapy can be a powerful experience.
Sometimes a therapist just isn’t the right fit. Just like you might not go back to a hairstylist or doctor you didn’t connect with, the same goes for therapy. The connection between you and your therapist is the most important part of making therapy work. That’s why we offer a free 15-minute consultation call. It’s a chance for us to see if we’re a good fit and if our work together could be helpful. Reach out today to schedule your consultation. It’s never too late to start.

Our private pay rate is $150 per session. If you have insurance, your cost depends on your copay, coinsurance, or deductible. You can call your insurance provider using the number on your card to check your mental or behavioral health benefits. Some employers also offer Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) that cover a few free sessions, so it’s worth asking your employer about this. We accept insurance, so feel free to ask during your consultation if we take your plan.
