Kimberly Meek, LCSW
Kimberly Meek, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with six years of experience in private practice. During her Master of Social Work program at Southeastern University, she trained at a faith-based nonprofit supporting homeless single mothers. Kim also provided counseling to military veterans and their families through a Vet Center.
Since graduation, Kim has worked extensively with veterans diagnosed with PTSD, children using play therapy to build confidence and modify behaviors, individuals managing anxiety and depression, and couples seeking healthier relationships. Kim integrates a variety of evidence-based practices into her sessions, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while incorporating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and play therapy with children. She is trained in the Gottman Method (Level 1) for couples and holds certifications as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP I & II) and an EMDRIA® trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist.
In sessions, Kim typically allows clients to lead the discussion, while providing structure and guidance when needed—particularly for children or clients uncertain about where to begin. Sessions may involve deep therapeutic work or lighter conversations to build rapport, depending on the client's goals and needs.
Kim measures success through a combination of outcome measurement tools, monthly progress tracking, and collaborative treatment planning with clients. She carefully monitors improvements and encourages clients to practice skills between sessions, sometimes suggesting a reduction in therapy when appropriate.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Kim served in both the enlisted and officer corps, bringing a deep commitment to service into her practice. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with their grandchildren, and relaxing at home with their dogs.
Deanna Pecina, MA, RMHCI
Deanna Pecina, MA, RMHCI, specializes in working with children, teens, and the parents who love them. She helps families better understand anxiety, emotional regulation, perfectionism, ADHD, learning differences, and the challenges that can make everyday life feel overwhelming.
Before becoming a therapist, Deanna spent more than 20 years in education as a teacher, curriculum designer, and instructional coach. That experience gives her a unique perspective on the academic, emotional, and social pressures children face, allowing her to recognize patterns that are often overlooked. She believes that behavior is meaningful and that understanding what's driving a child's struggles is the first step toward lasting change.
Deanna works collaboratively with parents to help them better understand their child's experiences while equipping children and teens with practical skills to build confidence, flexibility, and resilience. Her approach is warm, individualized, and focused on creating meaningful, lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms.
Deanna has earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Arts in Humanities, a Master of Science in School Administration, and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has completed advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Synergetic Play Therapy, EMDR, and the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) program.
As both a long-time military spouse and the daughter of a military family, Deanna also understands the unique challenges that transitions, uncertainty, and changing family dynamics can bring
